St Patrick's Well, Wicklow. This well is either in Bray or Oldcourt. Holy wells were probably sacred places in pre-Christian Ireland. When Christianity came to Ireland, it used many sites previously associated with pagan worship and the wells became associated with particular Christian saints. |
