An exterior view of the Pantheon in Rome, Italy, in the 19th century. The twin towers made by Maderno are still in situ - these were removed in the late 19th centruy. The Pantheon Fountain on Piazza della Rotunda, which incorporates the obelisk of Ramses II, is also clearly visible. The Pantheon was built as a temple to all the gods of Ancient Rome. |
