Description |
Members of the Dublin Metropolitan Police baton charge the crowd who were listening to Jim Larkin address a meeting on O'Connell Street on 31 August 1913 during the Dublin Lockout. Larkin was arrested and two people were killed during the riots which followed. Larkin's ITGWU eventually lost the dispute with the employers, led by William Martin Murphy, after eight months. |
