Television and theatre producer/director Chloe Gibson, on the set of the RTÉ Television play 'The Seamen', during filming in Studio 1, May 1971. She is standing mid shot in this photograph,talking to several unidentified male production crew members, almost all of whom are standing with their backs to camera listening to her. Chloe Gibson was Head of Drama at RTÉ from 1965-1971 and directed Telefís Éireann's opening night on New Year's Eve 1961. 'The Seamen' was set aboard an American freighter. It was written by RTÉ scriptwriter Norman Smythe and was broadcast on 11 November 1971, with Chloe Gibson producing. Smythe wrote an article about the play for the RTÉ Guide of 5 November 1971. |
