Description |
Former RTÉ producer Lelia Doolan in 1963. This shot was taken when she was appearing in 'Down at Flannery's', an RTÉ light entertainment production which combined ballad singing and traditional music with the day to day happenings in a fictional Irish village. Doolan played the part of Nora Flannery in it. It was written by Carolyn Swift, produced by Bill Skinner and first screened on 10 July 1963. Lelia Doolan also worked as artistic director of the Abbey Theatre, Dublin (1971-1973) and director of the Galway Film Fleadh. She was chairperson of the Irish Film Board from 1993-1996. |
