Broadcaster Terry Wogan, photographed for the RTV (RTÉ) Guide in 1963. Terry Wogan joined Radio Éireann (RTÉ Radio) in 1961 as an announcer. After the opening of Telefís Éireann (RTÉ Television) in late 1961 he worked on many programmes at the station, including stints as a newsreader, before leaving Ireland to join the BBC full-time in 1969. |
