Description |
A fashion item from 'The Late Late Show' in 1963. Three models are standing in front of a horse and carriage in the background of shot. Gay Byrne (third left) is interviewing a fourth woman - they are both standing beside these models. An unidentified man and woman are standing to the left of shot. A member of the production crew is obscuring the left foreground of shot. A boom microphone is visible overhead. This was the first programme in 'The Late Late Show''s second season. It was produced by Louis Lentin and broadcast on 19 October 1963. A feature on this programme appeared in the RTV Guide of 25 October 1963. After a period working in Granada TV in Manchester, Gay Byrne returned to RTE full-time in the early 1960s. He was executive producer and presenter of RTE's television chat show 'The Late Late Show' between 1962 and 1999. He also presented 'The Gay Byrne Show' on RTE Radio 1 from 1973-98. Gay Byrne was awarded the Freedom of the City of Dublin in 1999. |
