Description |
RTÉ producer Jim FitzGerald (centre, in white shirt) on the set of the RTÉ Television drama production 'Public Enemy' in 1962. This was an adaptation by Eoin Neeson of Henrik Ibsen's play 'Enemy of the People'. In this shot FitzGerald is surrounded by unidentifed members of the production crew. He is holding what is presumably the script and is in right profile. A feature on this play, written at the time of its recording in RTÉ's Donnybrook studios, appeared in the RTV Guide of 10 August 1962. A second article on it was published in the Guide of 19 October 1962 at the time of its broadcast on 21 October. The play was produced by Jim FitzGerald. In addition to his career as an RTÉ producer, Jim FitzGerald was a theatre director in Ireland in the 1950s and 1960s. He was appointed Telefís Éireann's Head of Drama in the early 1960s. |
