Irish puppeteer Eugene Lambert with his puppet 'Finnegan' in 1962. Lambert was presenting a Radio Eireann programme 'Finnegan Again', in which Finnegan "picked the pops" at the time this shot was taken. The two are sitting at the record turntables in a radio studio; Lambert is holding a 'Hopalong Cassidy' record sleeve as he looks at his puppet. Finnegan is dressed in a suit and tie and is wearing headphones. A short feature on the programme appeared in the RTV Guide of 17 August 1962. Eugene Lambert was one of the founders of the family owned Lambert Puppet Theatre, and is best known for his role as O'Brien in the popular RTE television children's programme 'Wanderly Wagon'. |
