Description |
Irish traditional group Planxty, performing on 'Capital Folk' during programme recording in the Old Shieling Hotel, Raheny, County Dublin, in early 1972. From left to right, Liam O'Flynn playing the uilleann pipes, Dónal Lunny playing either the bouzouki or mandolin, Christy Moore playing acoustic guitar and Andy Irvine playing the mandolin. 'Capital Folk' was a co-production between RTÉ Television and BBC Scotland. The first episode in the series was broadcast on 16 February 1972; Planxty appeared on the show broadcast on 18 April 1972. Articles on the programme appeared in the RTÉ Guides of 11 February and 17 March 1972. |
