Broadcaster Gay Byrne interviews the puppet fox Basil Brush, on the RTÉ Television chat show 'The Late Late Show' on 10 September 1983. After a period working in Granada TV in Manchester, Gay Byrne returned to RTÉ full-time in the early 1960s. He was executive producer and presenter of the RTÉ Television chat show 'The Late Late Show' between 1962 and 1999. He also presented 'The Gay Byrne Show' on RTÉ Radio 1 from 1973-98. Gay Byrne was awarded the Freedom of the City of Dublin in 1999. |
