Gay Byrne welcomes British broadcaster Esther Rantzen on to the set of RTÉ Television's 'The Late Late Show', in Studio 1 on 28 November 1981. Rantzen's husband Desmond Wilcox can be seen in the right background. Rantzen and Wilcox had written a book together entitled 'Kill the Chocolate Biscuit'. Esther Rantzen presented and produced the BBC Television consumer affairs programme 'That's Life!' from 1973 to 1994. She is a founder of Childline, the free national helpline for children in trouble or danger. |
