Description   Irish rock group The Boomtown Rats, performing on RTÉ Television's 'The Late Late Show', which was broadcast from Goff's in County Kildare on 13 March 1982. From left to right; Pete Briquette on bass guitar (his face is not clearly visible), lead singer Bob Geldof, Simon Crowe on drums and Garry Roberts on lead guitar. 'The Late Late' was broadcast from Kildare as the RTÉ studio in Donnybrook was being used for that year's National Song Contest.
The Boomtown Rats were formed in 1975. Their best known singles include 'Rat Trap' and 'I don't like Mondays' both of which reached No 1 in the UK charts.
