Broadcaster Michael O'Hehir, then a presenter on the RTE Television sports programme, 'Sport in Action', photographed on set for the RTÉ Guide in September 1972. Michael O'Hehir started his career as a radio commentator in 1938. He was appointed RTÉ's first Head of Sports Programmes in 1961 at the establishment of Telefís Éireann, a position he held until 1972 when he returned to being a freelance journalist. |
