An exterior view of Longfield House, County Tipperary, in October 1973. This was the last Irish home of Italian Charles Bianconi, who through his coach business played a major role in the development of Ireland's road transport system in the nineteenth century. RTÉ Television broadcast a programme about Bianconi on 15 November 1973, entitled 'An Italian Image Boy', as part of its 'Scope' series of documentaries. The accompanying RTÉ Guide article, published on 9 November 1973, featured stills from this shoot. |
