Description |
Irish writer James Plunkett at Grand Canal Basin in Ringsend, Dublin, in October 1973. This still was taken to publicise RTÉ Radio's adaptation of Plunkett's novel 'Strumpet City', which was broadcast in six parts from 5 July 1974. The adaptation was done by Tony Hickey. A still from this shoot was used to illustrate an RTÉ Guide article on Plunkett published on 28 June 1974.'Strumpet City' was later adapted for television and broadcast by RTÉ in 1980. James Plunkett is best known as the author of the novel 'Strumpet City' which was adapted for television and broadcast by RTÉ in 1980. Plunkett joined RTÉ in 1955 as Assistant Head of Drama and Variety at Radio Éireann and became one of Telefís Éireann's first producers. |
