Broadcaster Michael O'Hehir on RTÉ Television's 'The Late Late Show' on 22 September 1984. This edition of 'The Late Late' was a special on the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) to mark that organisation's centenary. Michael O'Hehir started his career as a radio commentator in 1938. He was appointed RTÉ's first Head of Sports Programmes in 1961 at the establishment of Telefís Éireann, a position he held until 1972 when he returned to being a freelance journalist. |
