RTÉ broadcaster Brendan Balfe, at the microphone in an RTÉ radio studio in 1979. Balfe was presenting two programmes for RTÉ Radio 2 (now RTE 2fm) at the time; 'Balfe's Five O'Clock Rock' and 'The Brendan Balfe Show'. This still was published in the RTÉ Guide of 31 August 1979. Balfe has won three International Awards for radio comedy and his Pathetic News feature on 'Balfe Street' was the only original satire on radio for many years. He was also the Music Policy Co-ordinator for RTÉ Radio 1, responsible for the choice of contemporary music across the schedule. |
