A scene from the RTÉ Television production of Kate O'Brien's novel 'The Last of Summer', during location filming near Clonee, County Meath in May 1978. From left to right; Cathleen Delany as Dotey Cregan, Ronnie Masterson as Hannah Kernahan and Susan Fitzgerald as Angéle (back to camera). 'The Last of Summer' was adapted in four parts for RTÉ Television by Tony Hickey. The first episode was broadcast on 5 October 1978 as part of RTÉ's 'Thursday Play Date' series. The corresponding RTÉ Guide article was published on 29 September 1978. |
