Jim FitzGerald as writer Oliver Goldsmith in a scene from the RTÉ Television drama 'A Little Man Dying', during filming in Studio 1 in April 1973. This television play, written by Tony Hickey, concerned Goldsmith's last days. It was broadcast on 30 December 1974; the RTÉ Guide published a preview on 20 December 1974. In addition to his career as an actor, Jim FitzGerald was a theatre director in Ireland in the 1950s and 1960s. He was appointed Telefís Éireann's Head of Drama in the early 1960s and was also an RTÉ Television producer. |
