Description   Irish traditional musicians record an edition of RTÉ Radio 1's 'The Long Note', in the RTÉ Radio Centre in April 1980. From left to right; flautist Michael Tubridy, uilleann piper Liam O'Flynn, Mícheál Ó Domhnaill on guitar, Máire Ní Chathasaigh on harp and Paddy Glackin on fiddle. All five also represented Ireland in the inaugural EBU (European Broadcasting Union) Folk Festival in June of that year, in which they had to perform a forty minute radio programme before a live audience. This edition of 'The Long Note', broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1 on 17 November 1980, featured that programme. The RTÉ Guide previewed the show on 14 November 1980.
