Description |
John Kavanagh as Sean O'Casey (right) in a scene from the RTÉ Television drama series 'Sean' during filming in Studio 1 in April 1980. The man on the left may be Cecil Sheehan who played a Gaelic League secretary but this is unconfirmed. This scene is probably from Episode 7, entitled 'Song of a Shift', which was broadcast on 18 January 1981. 'Sean' was a 13-part drama series based on the autobiographies of Irish writer Sean O'Casey. It was devised by Michael Voysey and written by Voysey, Neil Hartnett and Eugene McCabe. The first programme was broadcast on 7 December 1980 as part of 'The Sunday Series'. The RTÉ Guide of 5 December 1980 featured a two-page article on 'Sean'. |
