| Description | The Papal Nuncio Archbishop Gaetano Alibrandi photographed in Áras an Uachtaráin, Dublin, on 10 January 1980. He was attending a function in which the heads of the diplomatic corps in Ireland presented New Year's greetings to the Irish President. RTÉ News broadcast a brief report on this event on 10 January 1980. A Papal Nuncio is the diplomatic representative of the Holy See. Alibrandi held the position of Papal Nuncio to Ireland from 1969-1989. | |
