Description |
Irish historian and archaeologist Máire de Paor leads a tour of delegates on a day trip to a church/monastic settlement in Connemara, County Galway, during the 15th Golden Harp Festival on 28 May 1981. An extensive report on the 1981 festival was published in RTÉ's staff magazine 'Access' on 25 June 1981. The aim of the Golden Harp Festival was to promote international exchanges of folk music and folklore programmes and to encourage interest in traditional cultures among the nations represented through the associated competition. It was organised by RTÉ under the auspices of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union). |
