Dancers from Siamsa Tíre perform to music by Mícheál Ó Súilleabháín, 'Oileán', on the RTÉ Television series 'Music of the Night' during programme recording in Studio 1 in June 1992. Founded in 1974, Siamsa Tíre is the National Folk Theatre of Ireland. The RTÉ Concert Orchestra is in the background. Two series of 'Music of the Night' were broadcast in 1992. The first programme in the first six-part series was broadcast on 19 January 1992; the RTÉ Guide previewed it on 17 January 1992. The second 10-part series commenced on 11 October 1992; Siamsa Tíre appeared on the show broadcast on 13 December 1992. |
