Snooker players Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins (left) and Jimmy White in a shot taken to publicise RTÉ Television's 'Snooker: Carlsberg Challenge', in Studio 6 in early September 1985. This was the second year of the Carlsberg Challenge, a three-day championship which featured four leading snooker players competing against one another for a prize of £36,000 sterling. The matches were broadcast live on RTÉ Television on 6, 7 and 8 September 1985. The RTÉ Guide of 30 August 1985 published a two-page feature on the competition. |
