Israel's female conductor Nurit Hirsh during a rehearsal for the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest, the first year Israel performed in the competition, which was held in the Nouveau Théâtre de Luxembourg on 7 April that year. Israel was placed fourth in the contest with the song 'Ey Sham', which Hirsh wrote.
RTÉ Television broadcast the contest live on 7 April. The RTÉ Guide of 6 April 1973 published a three-page preview of the contest while the following week's Guide featured a follow-up report, using stills from this shoot.
