Broadcaster Terry Wogan at the microphone in the Radio Éireann (RTÉ Radio) GPO studios, photographed for the RTV (RTÉ) Guide in July 1962. He was a newsreader on both Radio Éireann and Telefís Éireann (RTÉ Television) and presenting a Radio Éireann show called 'Make Mine Country Style' at the time. This still accompanied a Guide article published on 13 July 1962. Terry Wogan joined Radio Éireann in 1961 as an announcer. After the opening of Telefís Éireann in 1962 he worked on many programmes at the station, including stints as a newsreader, before leaving Ireland to join the BBC full-time in 1969. |
