The judges/adjudicators of the 1987 PJ O'Connor Awards, at the presentation ceremony in the RTÉ Radio Centre on 22 March 1987. From left to right; Head of RTÉ Television Drama Noel Ó Briain, novelist and critic Mary Leland and Ronald Mason, former Head of BBC Radio Drama. A report on the 1987 awards was published in RTÉ's staff magazine 'Access' on 9 April 1987. The PJ O'Connor Awards were established in 1983 in honour of the late PJ O'Connor, the Head of Drama at RTÉ Radio. These awards are given to new writers in the field of radio drama, as well as to actors, actresses and others involved in amateur drama. |
