Unidentified competitors in the 6th Radio 2 Dublin City Marathon, sort through their belongings by the Robert Emmet statue at St Stephen's Green West on 28 October 1985. This statue was moved inside St Stephen's Green in the early 2000s. RTÉ Radio 2 (now RTÉ 2fm) provided live coverage of the marathon throughout the day, while RTÉ Television broadcast a two-hour programme on the evening of 28 October 1985. The RTÉ Guide previewed this coverage in its issue of 25 October 1985. The RTÉ staff magazine 'Access' published an article on the event in its issue of 14 November 1985. |
