A high shot of an empty studio prior to a performance by the RÉSO (Radio Éireann Symphony Orchestra) on Telefís Éireann's (RTÉ Television's) 'Music in View', taken for the RTV (RTÉ) Guide in October/November 1965. A grand piano can be seen on the left. 'Music in View' was an occasional series that featured the RÉSO/RTÉSO playing a variety of pieces, sometimes with guest celebrity musicians and singers. This edition of the show was broadcast on 12 April 1966. The RÉSO was subsequently called the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra (RTÉSO), the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland (NSOI) and finally the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra (RTÉ NSO). |
