The first RTÉ Radio 2 Dublin City Marathon starts on St Stephen's Green South on 27 October 1980. University Church can be seen on the left of shot; the viewing stand can be seen on the right. RTÉ Radio 2 (now 2fm) provided extensive coverage of this marathon throughout the day of the event. The RTÉ Guide published an article about it on 24 October 1980, while the RTÉ staff magazine 'Access' featured a detailed front page article on 13 November 1980. |
