Caption | Corporation Place, Dublin city (1952/1953) | |
Description |
Children in the courtyard of the Corporation Place flats complex, off Corporation Street in Dublin's north inner city, in 1952 or 1953. These flats were known locally as Corporation Buildings or 'The Buildings' and were knocked down in 1972. Corporation Street was originally named Mabbot Street and is now called James Joyce Street. Nevill Johnson's notes list this location as Foley Street but this was parallel to Corporation Place. |
