Caption   The Arch of Christchurch Cathedral, 1952-1953
Description   This shot is taken at the top of Winetavern Street, Dublin, facing to the north of the city. Four women are walking down the hill past Christchurch Cathedral. A policeman walks up the hill towards the right of the shot. The arch of Christchurch spanning Winetavern Street, is visible at the top of the shot. Christchurch is a cathedral church of the Dublin and Glendalough dioceses in the Church of Ireland (Anglican Communion). The original Viking church was founded in 1038 and the Romanesque Cathedral seen here was completed by the Normans in 1240.
