Lieutenant Colonel Derek Wilford during his interview with RTÉ News reporter Eddie Barrett in Derry city on 31 January 1972. Wilford was the commanding officer of the 1st Battalion of the Parachute Regiment on Bloody Sunday, which had taken place in Derry on the previous day. Thirteen civil rights marchers were shot dead by British soldiers on 30 January 1972.
