Description |
Father Frank Fahey, at Ballintubber Abbey, County Mayo, in 1993. This photo was published in an article in the RTÉ Guide on 9 April 1993. The article featured an interview with Father Frank Fahey, in which he discussed the history and survival of Ballintubber Abbey. The article publicised an episode of the religious affairs television programme 'Radharc' featuring Ballintubber Abbey. 'Radharc' was the oldest independent film production company in Ireland. It was founded by Dublin priest Fr. Joseph Dunn in 1961 and made many award-winning programmes which were shown on RTE. 'Radharc' ceased to exist following the death of Fr. Dunn in 1996, but its five staff set up Esras, an independent production company which also manages the Radharc archive on behalf of the Radharc Trust. |
