A promotional shot taken among the ruins of buildings in Dublin's Denmark Street in 1963 for the radio programme 'The Maureen Potter Show'. From left to right, the singer (and father of Eurovision Song Contest winner Johnny Logan) Patrick O'Hagan, actor/comedian Cecil Sheridan, theatre/radio producer and Chairman of the RTE Authority (1981-1985) Fred O'Donovan and actress/comedienne Maureen Potter. There is a mock tea party going on. Sheridan and Potter are sitting on two discarded armchairs around a container spread with a tablecloth and tea set. Sheridan is about to put on a cap. Just behind them, O'Donovan is placing a wig on O'Hagan's head. The ground is littered with rubble and rubbish.
The purpose of this shoot was to promote Potter's theatrical show from St. Francis Xavier Hall in Dublin, which was recorded and broadcast on Sunday afternoons on Radio Eireann. The show also featured Denis Brennan and Pat Layde. The first programme in this series was broadcast on 27 October 1963.
