A pub scene from the RTÉ Television drama series 'The Riordans', during filming in Dunboyne, County Meath, in August 1977. Johnny Hoey as Francey Maher is seated in the foreground. Standing behind him, from left to right, are; Dermot McDowell as Hennessy, Joe Pilkington as Eamon Maher, Tom Hickey as Benjy Riordan, Gerry Sullivan as Dr Howard and Chris O'Neill as Micheal Riordan. This still was taken during the shooting of two episodes of 'The Riordans', written by County Kerry playwright John B Keane. They were broadcast on 25 October and 1 November 1977. The RTÉ Guide published an interview with Keane in its edition of 28 October 1977.
'The Riordans' was a rural drama series which ran from 4 January 1965 to 28 May 1979 on RTÉ Television.
