The judges of the 2014 Francis MacManus Short Story Competition (previously known as the Francis MacManus Awards), photographed in June 2014. From left to right; Head of RTÉ Radio 1 Tom McGuire, writer Julie Parsons, editorial director of New Island Books Eoin Purcell, writer Christine Dwyer Hickey and RTÉ Radio 1 series producer Clíodhna Ní Anluain (chair of the judging panel). The Francis MacManus Short Story Competition is run annually by RTÉ Radio 1. The 25 shortlisted entires for 2014 were read over a five-week period in the 'Book on One' slot on RTÉ Radio 1, starting from 30 June 2014; the series producer was Clíodhna Ní Anluain. The overall winner of the 2014 competition was announced on 23 June that year. |
