Description   Traditional Irish dancers Bernadette Chaney and Barry O'Doherty performing on the set of 'Down at Flannery's', during the filming of the first episode in 1963. They are smiling and holding hands as they move forward, probably about to commence dancing. Joe Cahill who played the part of Johnnie Flynn in the series is stting beside the fireplace.

'Down at Flannery's' was an RTE light entertainment production, which combined ballad singing and traditional music with the day to day happenings in a fictional Irish village, Ballybeckett. It was written by Carolyn Swift, produced by Bill Skinner and first screened on 10 July 1963.
