|Caption||Wolfe Tone statue on St Stephen's Green (2004)|
A view of the Wolfe Tone statue (1967) located on the north-east corner of Dublin's St Stephen's Green, with the Shelbourne Hotel in the background, on 7 April 2004. This statue was made by Irish sculptor Edward Delaney; it is of cast bronze. The statue was blown up by loyalist terrorist in 1979 and though only the head survived, it was reconstructed.
The Shelbourne Hotel closed in March 2005 for refurbishment. It had been open since 1824.
