|Caption||Northumberland Road/Lower Mount Street junction, Dublin city (1965)|
A view of the junction of Northumberland Road with Lower Mount Street, Dublin city, seen from Warrington Place, photographed as design reference for the RTÉ Television drama series 'Insurrection' in late 1965. McKenny's Bridge (also known as Mount Street Bridge) over the Grand Canal is in the centre of shot, while St Stephen's School on Northumberland Road can be seen in the background. Advertising hoardings are visible in the left background.
'Insurrection' was an eight-part dramatised reconstruction of the events of Easter Week 1916, shown to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Easter Rising. The series was shown on eight consecutive nights on Telefís Éireann from 10-17 April 1966. The RTV (RTÉ) Guide extensively previewed the series in a special anniversary edition published on 8 April 1966.
