French Benedictine monk Dom Jean Claire (second left) visits RTÉ's Donnybrook complex in April 1976. RTÉ Television producer Aidan Maguire is standing first left; the two priests are unidentified. Dom Jean Claire, the choirmaster at the Abbey of Solesmes in France, was in Ireland to teach Gregorian chant to musicians in St Columban's at Dalgan Park in County Meath. Some of these musicians participated in a Latin Mass broadcast on RTÉ Television on 17 October 1976. Television presentation was by Aidan Maguire. A brief RTÉ Guide article about this Mass was published on 15 October 1976. |
