'Twice Shy' was made by RTÉ and Canadian company Comedia; it was the first production to be made under a new co-production treaty between Ireland and Canada. 'Twice Shy' was first broadcast on RTÉ Television on 7 January 1990; the RTÉ Guide previewed it on 5 January 1990. Articles on the film were also published in the RTÉ staff magazine 'Access' on 7 September and 23 November 1989.
