Description |
Al Byrne, an occasional contributer to RTÉ Television and Radio programmes, on the set of the television game show 'Take My Word' in late 1963. He is standing in the foreground holding a clipboard and pen - it is unclear whether he was presenting this programme or was working behind the scenes. Four of the participants can be seen seated in the background. They are, from left to right, an unidentified man, RTÉ producer Lelia Doolan, actress Brenda Doyle and actress/singer Ann O'Dwyer. 'Take My Word' was essentially a charades-style game show, featuring personalities from Irish theatre on opposing teams. The first show was broadcast on 2 January 1964; stills from this shoot were used to illustrate the RTV Guide preview published on 27 December 1963. |
