Niamh Kavanagh, the winner of the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest, awaits the result backstage in the green room of the Green Glens Arena, Millstreet, County Cork on 15 May 1993. Shay Healy, the composer of Ireland's 1980 Eurovision winner 'What's Another Year?', is first left. RTÉ producer John McHugh ,Head of the Irish Eurovision delegation, is on the right. Kavanagh won the contest with 'In Your Eyes', the second of three consecutive wins for Ireland. The contest was broadcast live on 15 May 1993. The RTÉ Guide published a Eurovision supplement on 14 May 1993. A report on the behind-the-scenes preparations was published in RTÉ's staff magazine 'Access' on 27 May 1993. |
