Half-length portrait shot of Belfast-born playwright Patrick Riddell, on the set of the RTE/BBC Northern Ireland television series 'Borderlines', during filming in an RTE studio in 1967. He is seated, smoking a pipe and looking to the left of shot.
'Borderlines' was a 10-part series which discussed the similarities and differences in attittude, to issues of interest to Irish people on both sides of the border. The producer was Pat Kearney; he wrote a brief article about the series in the RTE Guide of 2 June 1967. Douglas Gageby chaired the first programme which was broadcast on 8 June 1967. Former BBC Political Editor John Cole also chaired several programmes, including this edition of the show, which featured a discussion on 'The State and the Arts'. It was broadcast on 27 July 1967.
