Broadcaster Terry Wogan at the microphone in Studio 5 at Radio Éireann's (RTÉ Radio) GPO studios, during an RTV (RTÉ) Guide photo shoot in May 1963. He was a newsreader on both Radio Éireann and Telefís Éireann (RTÉ Television) at the time. Three stills from this shoot accompanied a Guide article written by Terry Wogan, entitled 'But Seriously', published on 10 May 1963. Terry Wogan joined Radio Éireann in 1961 as an announcer. After the opening of Telefís Éireann in 1962 he worked on many programmes at the station, including stints as a newsreader, before leaving Ireland to join the BBC full-time in 1969. |
