Description   Film archivist Liam O'Leary with his pet dog at his Dublin home in 1986. Stills from this shoot accompanied an article published in the RTÉ staff magazine, 'Access', on 10 April 1986, marking O'Leary's retirement from RTÉ where he had worked as a Film Acceptance Officer since 1966.

Liam O'Leary was a co-founder of the Irish Film Society in 1936. He worked in a freelance capacity as a theatre director, play producer, film actor, film director, writer and critic. He came to RTÉ from London where he had worked as an Acquisitions Officer for the National Film Archive since 1953. Liam O'Leary also published several books on film including 'Invitation to the Film' (1945) and 'The Silent Cinema' (1965).
