A representative of the Anglican Church of Ireland reads a prayer during the 1995 National Day of Commemoration, held in the courtyard of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin, on 9 July that year. Leaders of other faiths are standing behind him. The National Day of Commemoration honours Irishmen and Irishwomen who have died in past wars or on service with the United Nations. The ceremony was broadcast live on RTÉ 1 Television. |
